How to Get Started

At the point you're ready to join the troop, the first step in the process is to register with the National Office through Trail Life Connect.

This is a $30.70 national registration fee that will be due when you first register and on the annual anniversary of your Trail Life membership. 

Request an invitation from the Troopmaster, 937-999-7279, and you'll be able to register with Trail Life Connect. Please complete only the Trail Life registration steps and do not complete the Health and Safety Forms prompted in this email.

Locally, we are funded by two primary sources of income:  annual troop dues and fundraising.

Each year, we ask families to pay local troop dues to help cover costs associated with running the program.   We also offer the opportunity for you to order the basic gear needed for your son, as well as fill out the medical form.

Note:  The last thing we would want is to see dues or equipment/gear costs prevent a boy from participating in the program.   If these expenses are a concern, please let a leader know and we can make other arrangements.

Our troop using a number of tools to communicate information and details out to parents and the trailmen.

1. Trail Life Connect - You've already registered here!  We use this to send patrol level announcements out to the families of information you may need to know about patrol activities.
   
   

2. MailChimp - This is the service we use to send troop-wide communications.  We already subscribed the email address to register you son(s), but if you want to add a second email to this list so that all parents receive the announcements, please signup here.
   
   

3. Remind - We use this texting service for text communications about deadlines and changes that need to be announced.    To subscribe, simply use your texting app to text the message @tl1202 to 81010

We are always on the look out for more parents to assist with delivering a quality program for the Trailmen.   Having an abundance of registered leaders ensures we have the coverage we need to teach the boys within the health and safety guidelines of the program!

Fees for adults are minimal, as we don't charge any local troop fees for registered leaders.
